An update from Wayne at Ironwood Christian Camp:

"Last week there were 15 salvation decisions in Rivertown, 3 in Broken I and 2 in Ike’s! Praise the Lord for the watering and sowing that went into those decisions and for the point of decision being presented and accepted!! Please pray for these campers as they head home now and follow-up will be done. Last week was an interesting week with the sponsers too, several of them made some good decisions during the week! It almost seemed like a fourth camper group was here."

Wayne offers an update from Ironwood Christian Camp in California. It's both a blessing and a prayer list. [See Wayne's picture in our December 29, 2007 post.]

"We have a sixth grade group in camp at the moment, they have been a fun group. The services are going well, several kids have responded to the initiations.

"Last weekend at the Youth Winter Rendezvous, there were seven decisions regarding salvation!! The campers had a unique activity that weekend, sleds made of ice and a plastic run down the hill above the lake!! It was great to watch…chilly to be involved in ...

"A church in Ohio voted to take me on for support last Sunday night for $50 a month!! That is a tremendous blessing and I am so thankful! I would appreciate your continued prayer for full support to be provided. A couple of individuals have started to support me as well and that is an encouragement!!

"One note regarding my personal walk, I have been using a devotional guide... It is not super deep, but it has been one of the most helpful tools to date in helping me grow!! It is “My Biography of God.” It gives a passage and asks questions to cause you to search the scripture...

"Thankful for the opportunity to serve, Wayne Mix"

Wayne would love to read updates from other 1991 alumni. How about it Sarah (Hassel) Heberg, Gerald McPhillips, Jill (Brudnak) Pendley, and Michael Pickard? :^)

Wayne Mix ('91)

Wayne Mix ('91) has been serving at Ironwood Christian Camp in Newberry Springs, California since graduating from Maranatha. He recently wrote of the fall couples retreat... "Two couples came having started the divorce process, during the retreat, the Lord worked and by the end of it, both couples went home deciding to stay together!"

Wayne continued: "I thank the Lord for our little church out here!! We had a firefighter Sunday a few weeks ago, 28 firefighters and family showed up."

Ironwood.org offers the following staff description:

Wayne came to Ironwood in the early 90's as a summer grounds crew worker. In the fall of 1993, he joined full-time staff. He has worked on the the grounds and hospitality teams and is now also working in the business office with accounts payable. During the summer, he is very busy teaching and working with the high schoolers participating in Leadership Institute. During the non-summer months, he helps the program team by leading skills activities and hikes as well as helping wash all those dirty dishes. On skit nights, a fellow named Morphil (who looks kind of like Wayne) frequently shows up.
